• Executive Representations

  • Successfully negotiate numerous executives’ separation and employment agreements, and achieve enhancements for individuals in positions ranging from the VP level to the C-Suite in start-ups, public companies, and private universities/other 501(c)(3) organizations.

  • Assist executives with smoothly transitioning from one position to the next, including counseling through compensation planning and thoughtful approaches to avoiding problems with former employers related to confidential information, non-competes and other restrictive covenants.

  • Counsel individuals through the challenging process of responding to “performance improvement plans,” and other job performance management with the goal of enhancing their negotiation position for favorable severance packages.

  • Counsel executives on issues such as change in control severance plans and possible alternatives to leaving their employers.

• Employment Law Compliance and Pre-Litigation Company Representation

  • Draft and negotiate employment, separation, non-competition, and non-solicitation agreements.

  • Counsel corporate clients regarding individual and group termination decisions, disciplinary actions, misclassification analyses, federal and state wage and hour law compliance, pay equity laws, and related litigation.

  • Draft personnel policies and handbooks compliant with legal requirements in numerous U.S. jurisdictions; advise as to policy implementation and application.

  • Respond to, and successfully resolve, wage and hour audits by the Massachusetts Attorney General and Federal Department of Labor.

  • Develop and present training content to clients on harassment and other cutting-edge employment issues.

  • Conduct internal investigations on a variety of issues, including claims of whistleblower retaliation.

• Employment and General Business Litigation

  • Represent clients before administrative agencies and regulators, including defense of Sarbanes-Oxley whistleblower retaliation claim before OSHA, and defense and mediation of claims before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.

  • Represent clients in complex commercial cases involving a wide range of litigation issues, including federal and state securities and employment laws.

  • Serve as lead counsel through day-long trial on expedited-track pro bono asylum case for detained client; successfully obtained asylum.

Elizabeth earned her B.A. from Wellesley College in 2004. After college, Elizabeth was awarded the prestigious German Academic Exchange Service Scholarship, which allowed her the opportunity to study for a year at the University of Hanover’s Institute of Political Science in Hanover, Germany. Subsequently, Elizabeth worked for two years as a litigation legal assistant at Skadden Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in Boston before pursuing her J.D. from Cornell Law School. After gaining admission to the Massachusetts Bar in 2010, Elizabeth practiced at Dechert LLP for over three years and Cooley LLP for over seven years prior to moving to a smaller employment law boutique, Chinitz Law LLC, in mid-2021 until opening Inglis Law LLC in early 2023.

Elizabeth lives and works in Somerville, Massachusetts. Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her family, whether it be traveling, cheering on her kids at sports, or going hiking or camping. Elizabeth has spent several years living abroad, loves to travel, and is proficient in written and spoken German.
